This Privacy Policy (the "Policy") describes how Humo Lab LLC, a company registered in Wyoming, United States, with its registered office at 30 N Gould St Ste R, Sheridan, WY 82801 ("we", "our", or the "Company"), collects, uses, stores, and protects your personal information when you use the "Humo" application (the "Application").
By using the Application, you agree to the collection and use of your personal data in accordance with this Policy.
2. Information we collect
We collect different types of information to operate the Application and provide a consistent experience for your couple.
2.1. Information you provide to us
- Account information : Depending on your sign-up method, we collect your email address, user ID, and authentication tokens. Four methods are available: Apple Sign In, Google, email + password, or an anonymous account (no personal information required).
- Couple data : When you pair your account with your partner's, we store the link between your two accounts and co-constructed data (plush name, emotional state, streak, completed missions).
- Feed Pépite photos : When you photograph a moment via Feed Pépite, the photo is uploaded to our servers and associated with your couple. It remains accessible to you and your partner until account deletion.
- Text entries : Moods, mission responses, and other entries you make in the Application.
2.2. Information collected automatically
- Device data : Model, operating system version, IP address, unique device identifiers, and crash data.
- Usage data : Features used, screens viewed, interactions with the plush — to improve the experience and fix bugs.
3. How we use your data
We use your personal data for the following purposes:
- Service delivery : Authenticate your account, pair you with your partner, evolve the plush, save your streak and missions.
- AI-assisted generation : Generate mission and plush reaction variants via third-party AI processors (see Section 4). Only short text data is transmitted — never your photos.
- Application improvement : Analyze usage behavior to improve features and fix technical issues.
- Communication : Send you push notifications about your plush's state or your partner's actions.
4. Artificial Intelligence
To generate certain mission and plush reaction variants, we transmit short text data to third-party AI processors.
- Third-party AI processors : We use OpenRouter as a gateway, which routes our requests to Anthropic (Claude models).
- Data transmitted : Short text only: plush name, mission register, emotional state. Your photos, email, and identifying information are never sent to these processors.
- No training : Your data is not used to train Anthropic's AI models or those of any other provider.
5. Sharing and disclosure of information
We do not sell your personal data. We share data with trusted third-party service providers that help us operate the Application:
5.1. Technical infrastructure and hosting
- Firebase (Google) : We use Firebase for authentication, database storage (Firestore), photo storage (Storage), server functions (Cloud Functions), and crash reporting (Crashlytics).
- Push notifications : We use OneSignal and Apple Push Notification Service (APNs) to send you notifications. This involves sharing your device identifier and push token.
5.2. Analytics and billing
- Amplitude : We use Amplitude to analyze usage behavior. Events are associated with your unique user ID to understand your journey.
- RevenueCat : RevenueCat verifies your subscription status with Apple and Google. We transmit a unique user identifier to it.
5.3. Legal and business transfers
- Legal compliance : We may disclose your information if required by law, regulation, or legal process in the United States or your country of residence.
- Business transfers : In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of Humo Lab LLC assets, your data may be transferred to the acquiring entity.
6. International data transfers
Humo Lab LLC is based in the United States. Our providers (Firebase, OneSignal, Amplitude, RevenueCat, OpenRouter) operate from the United States or the European Union depending on the service.
If you access the Application from the European Union, your personal data may be transferred, stored, and processed in the United States. We rely on the derogations for specific situations set out in Article 49 of the GDPR (performance of a contract) to provide the services you have requested.
7. Data retention
We retain your personal data only as long as necessary:
- Account data : Retained in Firebase while your account is active.
- Feed Pépite photos : Retained until your account is deleted. No automatic deletion before that date.
- Couple data : When a partner requests account deletion, we may delete all co-constructed data (plush, streak, missions, Feed Pépite photos), including for the other partner. Contact support@starthumo.com to exercise this right.
8. Security
We take reasonable administrative, physical, and electronic measures — including encryption of data in transit and secure management of authentication tokens — to protect the information we collect against unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is completely secure.
9. Your rights (GDPR and CCPA)
Depending on your location, you may exercise the following rights:
- Access : Request a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Rectification : Correct inaccurate data.
- Deletion : Request deletion of your account and associated data.
- Portability : Request a structured export of your data.
How to delete your account
To request complete deletion of your account and associated data, email support@starthumo.com from the address associated with your account. We will process your request within 30 days and delete your data from our active databases, as well as associated Feed Pépite photos.
10. Children's privacy
The Application is not intended for persons under 13 years of age (or the relevant age of digital consent in your country). We do not knowingly collect data from children. If we learn that we have collected such data without parental consent, we will delete it.
11. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will indicate the latest revision. Your continued use of the Application after any changes implies your acceptance of the new Policy.
